Frans Otten Stadion Amsterdam

The Frans Otten Stadion is the biggest squashcenter of the Benelux. They have 21 squashcourts including a Centre Court, three-side-glasscourt, and a capacity of 1500 spectators. So Frans Otten Stadion have all the ingredients for a great event! 

 

Tournament Hotels 

We have two great hotels to offer to the teams. The first one is the Van der Valk Hotel - Schiphol A4 in Hoofddorp. It's a modern hotel close to the airport and only 15-20 minutes from the venue. The free shuttle service provided by Van der Valk will take visitors from and to Schiphol. The hotel has a modern welness centre, luxury gym and indoor swimming pool. Breakfast will be served daily in the hotel restaurant. Besides the breakfast Van der Valk has a restaurant and multiple hotelbars. 

Also we have the Olympic Hotel in Amsterdam. Feel the buzzing energy! Next to the Olympic Stadium, surrounded by sports fields and the idyllic Stadion Canal, is where you shall find the Olympic Hotel. A unique location with 309 stylishly decorated rooms for athletes, business and leisure travellers. Come and experience our first class facilities, comfy beds, healthy kitchen and inspiring meeting rooms. The Olympic Hotel is only 2 minutes walking to the venue.

History 

Last year in Poland both Dutch Teams won there second division and promoted this year to the first division. Great to see them join the best countries in Europe at there home court. Last year in Division one England took the double will they defend there titles this year? 

The first European Team Champs where played in 1973 for the mens and 1978 for the womens. Till now the Dutch squad took four times a bronze medal in 2005, 2006, 2008 and 2010. In 2007 they took the silver medal home! The best result in history for the mens. 

The womens did better in the past. They won 9 silver medals and 12 silver medals. In 2010 the Dutch Lions got European Champs and took the gold home.

With 35,000 participants, the annual Amsterdam marathon is one of the largest marathons in Europe. In 2016 Amsterdam organized the European Athletics Championships. In addition, the city has witnessed the many successes of Amsterdam-based football club Ajax, both nationally and internationally.
